Irondequoit Historical Society: The History of Zoning in Irondequoit with Jim Hinman In-Person / Online

The Irondequoit Historical Society welcomes Jim Hinman who will be sharing the history of zoning in our town - the legal basis for zoning restrictions and the types of variances  that are considered by the Zoning Board of Appeals. Jim will also discuss some notable cases that have come up in the last 17 years that he has been a member of the Zoning Board.

Jim graduated from Irondequoit High School. He studied history at Gettysburg College and law at Syracuse University. He began practicing law in 1980.  Jim has also been involved with the local Boy Scout organization since 1966, with over 50 years to his credit.

Participants have the choice of viewing this program in person at the Irondequoit Public Library or at home via livestream using Zoom. Registration required with an email address. Participants will receive an email with the log-in information for Zoom.
