The Adventures of An Eclipse Chaser with Meteorologist Joe Rao: An Online Program Online

To witness a total eclipse of the sun is an experience that few people experience. Once seen, however, it is a phenomenon never to be forgotten. The incredible panoply of phenomena that occur when the Sun becomes completely covered by the Moon: the radiance of the pearly corona of the Sun; the scarlet tongues of hydrogen gas rising from the surface to heights of many thousands of miles; the unaccustomed presence of the brighter stars and planets in the daytime; the darkness of twilight and sudden fall of temperature. On April 8, 2024, those who live in the Northeast US and New England will have an eclipse delivered at their doors.

Over the last 50 years, Meteorologist Joe Rao has chased 13 eclipses around the globe, by land, sea and air. He'll share his experiences witnessing this unique phenomenon.

This program will be held online using a communication app/website called Zoom. Registration required with an email address. Participants will receive an email with the log-in information for Zoom.
