Erie Eats: The Erie Canal Foodways Project with the Erie Canal Museum In-Person
Food is a basic building block of human life. Where does our food come from? How does it arrive at a place where we can eat it? For people in Upstate New York in the 1800s, the answer radically changed when the Erie Canal was completed in 1825 and continued to change dramatically over the next 200 years as the canal itself changed.
Steph Adams (they/them) is the Interpretation Coordinator at the Erie Canal Museum in Syracuse, NY. Originally from Sherrill, NY, Steph received a B.A. in Art History from SUNY Geneseo and dual M.A. degrees in Art History and Museum Studies from Syracuse University. They are very grateful to have found a job that allows them to do fun things like ride on canal boats and read books.
Registration requested. The Irondequoit Public Library is committed to creating inclusive and accessible events. To request a reasonable accommodation or discuss your needs, please contact one of our Inclusion Coordinators or call the library at 585-336-6060.
