Irondequoit Art Club Lecture Series - "The Sacred Spaces Within" by Rochester Artist, Karen M. Pelc In-Person
Multifaceted Rochester artist, KAREN M. PELC, will be speaking about her bronze casting process and will show examples of bronze pieces and carved wood tripods & structural pieces.
Karen Pelc’s artistic journey is rooted in a deep passion for the visual arts, cultivated through a diverse and enriching educational background which includes an Associate Degree in Fine Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Nazareth University, and a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture. She has explored various media and techniques particularly regarding the interplay between light and shadow, form and space and the tactile qualities of different materials. A significant part of her artistic education was studying abroad in Italy, a country with a rich artistic background. Karen takes pride in her heritage by depicting Italian art scenes with historical and contemporary natures that honor the culture of her ancestors.
Realizing how fragile life can be, Karen acknowledges that art has been a healing force in her life and so expresses her dedication, gratitude, and appreciation of each day. She continues to explore the world around her to capture the essence of human experience through her art & visual expression. More info about her work can be found in her two websites: karenpelc.com and harmonydesignapparel.com
