Join the Irondequoit Art Club for an evening lecture with Jeff Lennox, Upstate NY/Florida graphic designer, sculptor, painter.

He will do an art presentation entitled “Sculptorial Art” after the 6:30 PM business meeting of the Irondequoit Art Club.

Sculptorial art is the integration of two-dimensional shapes with three-dimensional forms. It is not painted sculpture, and it is not sculpted painting. It is the interplay of both. Utilizing pictorial, textural, and sculptural elements, Jeff weaves illusionary and real forms from the onset to explore new visual experiences. When he is creating sculptorial art, Jeff looks for a balance between sculpture and flat art. As in sculpture, the work’s appearance changes when viewed from different angles and when lit from varying directions. As in flat art, planes that do not truly exist can be expressed through changes in color or contrast. Through back-and-forth adjustments, Jeff seeks to harmonize, emphasize, &/or contrast the two-dimensional and three-dimensional elements. His inspiration often arises from the natural world—not only in terms of visual richness—in terms of energy and feeling as well. Jeff Lennox was born in Rochester, NY. He graduated from Newark, NY High School as the national portfolio winner at the 1974 Scholastic Art Show in New York City. He later graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art and began his career in graphic design and illustration.

As a graphic designer, Jeff worked at small advertising agencies. In 1987, he began Lennox Graphix, which evolved into Archer Communications, a marketing communications firm he headed in Rochester, NY for 33 years. Throughout his life, Jeff has designed, drawn, painted and sculpted art. He has exhibited in several regional, national, & international shows and is inspired by people, nature, and wildlife. Over time, he has focused increasingly on how pictorial and sculptural elements can be integrated to form new expressions. Jeff resides in Buffalo, NY & Fort Myers, FL.
