Civil War Stories with Mark Sample In-Person
Mark Sample, a professor in the History Department at Monroe Community College, will join us at the library to tell a few Civil War Stories.
This talk will look at both well-known and overlooked perspectives from Civil War period. We'll explore the experiences of Black soldiers, look at the draft riots surrounding the war, and consider the impactful 1964 election. These stories will provide further context for the Emancipation Proclamation, the Gettysburg address, and Lincoln's assassination.
