Waves of Community: Building & Documenting Rochester's Ukrainian Connections In-Person
On August 24, 2021 at 6:30 pm the Irondequoit Public Library will host a free companion program to the exhibit Waves of Community: Building & Documenting Rochester's Ukrainian Connections. Guests will view short presentations on the collection and exhibit, remarks by guests from Dnipro, Ukraine, and a celebration of 30 years of Ukrainian Independence with music and song.
Visit the Irondequoit Public Library between August 10 - November 28, 2021 to view the exhibit Waves of Community, which will be on display in the Muisus Family Local History Gallery.
This collaborative exhibition honors the life and vision of Mirko Pylyshenko, founder of the Ukrainian Rochester Collection, housed at the University of Rochester's River Campus Libraries, Department of Rare Books, Special Collections, & Preservation (RBSCP).
The exhibition, curated by RBSCP celebrates an ongoing community partnership to document and preserve Rochester's rich Ukrainian history and connections. The exhibition also celebrates and commemorates 30 Years of Ukrainian Independence.
Hosted the Ukrainian Federal Credit Union, Ukrainian-American Community Foundation at UFCU, Rochester Ukrainian Group, and the Ukrainian Cultural Center of Rochester.
