Slowness, Sound, and Savasana with Kasia Pelepko: An Online Program Online

This 2-week yoga series will welcome you to slow down in a season that seems to encourage constant busy-ness and doing. We will begin on the floor with certain movement patterns that will repeat throughout the class. We'll move to traditional standing yoga poses and end with some stretching and savasana (final resting pose), where we'll take a cue from the natural world and cultivate space for rest and our very own form of hibernation. Both classes will offer an opportunity for moving with control and slowness to encourage body awareness and focus. Classes will also include some experimentation with sound by way of breathing techniques and music.

Please have the following props handy: a blanket or two, a few pillows or a yoga bolster, a few books or yoga blocks, and a scarf, belt, or yoga strap. If you have an eye pillow or hand towel, you might want to use that to cover your eyes during final resting pose. You are welcome to use a yoga mat if you have one available, or you could just practice on the floor.  
 
 

Kasia Pelepko, E-RYT, offers private yoga sessions at Lake Breeze Wellness in Irondequoit and studio classes at Assisi Yoga at 1400 North Winton Road. Kasia's studio & private sessions aim to get you curious about how you move and how you think, and she hopes to offer encouragement & support along the way.

Registration required with an email address for each session. This program will be held online using a communication app/website called Zoom. Participants will receive an email with the log-in information for Zoom.
