A Free Concert by Resonanz: They Sang Too, The Unheard Voices of Women's Suffrage

A Free Concert by Resonanz: They Sang Too, The Unheard Voices of Women's Suffrage In-Person

“They Sang Too” brings historic, century-old Suffragist music and lyrics to fresh, new light. This program features original arrangements created for the Resonanz Ensemble by Jeannie Guerrero, formerly of the Eastman School of Music faculty. These beautiful, catchy, witty, and compelling anthems set to familiar Civil War-era marches, Stephen Foster tunes and music by the Queen of Hawai’i among many others, remain enlightening for their timeliness and power.

Resonanz, the outreach choir for the Rochester Oratorio Society, is a versatile group that sings pop, jazz, Americana, and holiday music in a wide variety of settings, from convention centers to birthday parties to street fairs. They are also known for their educational outreach, bringing programs of social and historical significance to schools and libraries across the region.
