Irondequoit Historical Society: Antique Appraisal with Price Prazar In-Person
We are sure that many of you have seen the PBS TV series ANTIQUES ROADSHOW. It is part adventure, part history lesson, and part treasure hunt. This month your Historical Society brings our version of the show to Irondequoit.
Our guide will be Price Prazar. Mr. Prazar is a retired teacher from the Rochester City School District where he taught History and Language Arts. He started collecting antiques when he was 10 years old. His mentor, Don Netzger, encouraged him to study about antiques. He did his first professional appraisal in 1984 and has been teaching about antiques since 1988. He is often seen at local antique shows and sales giving verbal appraisals. He also collaborated with WXXI when the Antiques Roadshow came to town.
Come and have your antique or special treasure appraised by Mr. Prazar. Everyone is allowed to bring one item you would like to find out more about. (Please, no rugs or firearms).
